53-year old Charles Wycuff and 50-year old Lori Ann Anderson separated in 2003, but their son told police in 2011 that the couple abused him between 1997 and 1999. The case was investigated for over two years before charges were finally filed against the Ohio couple on Friday.
Their son is now almost 30 years old and no longer lives in Ohio. Another son who lived with the couple during the alleged abuse is not involved in the case. It is not known if he will testify for or against the couple.
Anderson plead not guilty to 23 felony charges including sexual battery and gross sexual imposition, 11 counts of rape, and two counts of obstructing justice. She was released Monday after posting bond.
Wycuff remains in Auglaize County Jail on a $500,000 bond and is facing 54 felony charges including rape, sexual battery, and pandering sexually explicit material involving a minor.
Anderson’s attorney, Richard Kerger, stated that Anderson wants to tell her side of the story and is eager for the case to go to trial. It appears their defense will be influencing the jury to believe that Wycuff was “pretty much in charge of orchestrating it.” Kerger claims that Wycuff was “abusive, dominant, [and] engaged in misconduct.”
Anderson has been an elementary school teacher for 29 years with a clear record void of any complaints. She currently works for Cridersville Elementary teaching first grade. While the school’s principal has not commented, Kerger believes Anderson will lose her job because of the accusations.
